Jack of Spades House Rules
1. A new deck of cards for each game started.
2. Cards will be placed into security envelopes and sealed.
3. In a public location, the full deck of 52 cards and 2 Jokers, are to be placed in sealed envelopes. Two of the co-chairs will sign the back of each envelope. All envelopes then will be mixed up, and then they will be numbered 1 to 54.
4. Envelopes will be numbered and posted in a locked display cabinet. ONLY key holders will have access to the cabinet.
5. After cards are shuffled and numbered no less than 3 Carleton rotary members will place them in locked cabinet at Grafton Inn. Key holders of the cabinet are Carleton Rotary Members, Jena Reiser, Gail Meyer and Rose Taormina.
6. Tickets will be sold for 1.00 each.
7. Drawing date will be each Friday, starting September 17th, 2010 and ending Friday October 07th, 2011 (excluding December 24th 2010 and December 31st 2010) (54 weeks)
8. The purchaser holding the winning ticket will pick a card from the board.
9. To win the pot, you must pull the Jack of Spades.
10. If the Jack of Spades is not drawn, the pot rolls over to the next week.
11. The pot will continue to build until the Jack of Spades is drawn, this could take up to 54 weeks.
12. If you are not going to be present at the drawing, you must declare an envelope number written on your ticket stub or a Carleton Rotary Member will draw your envelope. Winners will receive the same percentage of jackpot regardless of whether they are present.
13. If the winning ticket holder picks the Jack of Spades, they will receive 70 % of the pot. The Carleton Rotary Club will get the other 30%.
14. Carleton Rotary Club will withhold federal taxes of 25% from winnings where applicable. You will be required to provide proper identification and information for taxes. All tickets and monies will be accounted for by Carleton Rotary Club in accordance with all bureau requirements.
15. If the State Gaming License runs out during game, tickets will be sold and drawn the last night until someone draws the Jack of Spades and wins the current pot.
16. If your ticket is drawn and you draw the pay card, you will receive the pay card prize and the prize for that stage ticket drawing. Example: 25.00 for getting your ticket drawn + 50.00 for the Joker = 75.00 (stage 1)
17. Tickets may be purchased at the restaurant.
18. Ticket sales start on Fridays at 9:45PM.
19. Ticket sales will end on Fridays at 9:00PM
20. After the drawing at 9:30PM. On Friday all tickets will be discarded.
21. Drawings will be held Friday nights at 9:30PM.
22. In case of emergency and the raffle cannot be held at the designated time, the raffle will be held at the first available date following.
23. Owners, employees and persons residing at their residence of Grafton Inn, any suppliers for the raffle, Co-chairs and Key Holders of the Carleton Rotary Club, are NOT eligible to purchase raffle tickets for the Jack of Spades drawing.
